These devices are capable of incredible resolution and detail. They are far superior to CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) imaging devices. This superiority is due to the fact that they write pixels directly to the film as individual points where a CRT type film recorder actually photographs a high resolution black and white monitor.

Transparencies and negatives produced on these devices cost between $80.00 and $300 for the 4x5 to 8x10 outputs.
